Mechanical Fitter / Stores Person

Full-Time | Workshop Role Small Family Business – Perth, Western Australia

We are a well-established small engineering and fabrication business looking for a reliable and motivated Mechanical Fitter / Stores Person to join our close-knit workshop team.

This is a hands-on, varied role perfect for someone who enjoys both technical mechanical work and keeping a workshop running smoothly and efficiently.

About the Role

You will split your time between:

• Mechanical fitting and workshop maintenance

• Stores and inventory management

Key Responsibilities

• Fitting, assembling, and maintaining mechanical equipment and machinery

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals

• Performing repairs, modifications, and general workshop fabrication tasks

• Receiving, inspecting, and storing incoming parts and materials

• Managing stock levels, conducting stocktakes, and maintaining accurate records

• Issuing parts and materials to workshop staff

• Keeping the workshop and stores area clean, safe, and well-organised

• Assisting with general workshop duties as required

What We’re Looking For

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting (Cert III or higher) or equivalent experience

• Previous experience in a workshop or mechanical environment

• Stores/warehouse experience is highly regarded

• Forklift licence (desirable)

• Strong safety awareness and commitment to workshop housekeeping

• Reliable, physically fit, and able to work independently as well as part of a small team

• Good communication skills and a practical, can-do attitude
