Task & responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate purchase and maintenance of transport vehicles, equipment and fuel to minimize downtime.
- Meet the client's logistics needs effectively by providing them with advice and information regarding vehicle type.
- Plan and implement transportation schedules ensuring optimal performance.
- Ensure goods are stored and transported in conditions that will maintain their quality.
- Prepare and maintain business records and regular reports on fleet performance, costs etc.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage budgets and negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers.
- Lead and support a team of drivers and logistics personnel, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
Qualification & experience
- Education: Diploma (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in fleet management or a similar role within the logistics/transportation industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in fleet management software and tracking systems.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Australian transport regulations and compliance requirements.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, drivers, and stakeholders.
