Beak & Johnston Pty Ltd are looking for full time Forklift Operators with vacancies available on a range of shifts.
The Forklift Operator plays a critical role within Beak & Johnston's Greenacre operations. Following a strategic restructure of the warehouse team into dedicated value streams - Mandu, VAP and Kettles - the demand for skilled forklift operators has grown considerably, and this position sits at the heart of keeping those value streams running smoothly. With the business also moving towards fully inhouse management of finished goods storage, the role carries real operational weight. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of incoming and outgoing goods across material handling, transportation, distribution, packaging and inventory - spanning both raw and finished goods. Key operational areas include Drygoods, Despatch, Receivals, Warehouse, Transport and Wet Batch storage.
- Operating forklifts across Beak & Johnston's Greenacre warehouse to safely stack, unstack, transport and position goods across the Mandu, VAP and Kettles value stream areas, maintaining product integrity and cold chain compliance at all times.
- Operating forklifts within Beak & Johnston's warehousing environment to support the safe movement of chilled ready meals, pastries, soups, sauces and sous vide proteins.
- Undertake forklift duties in accordance with safe operating procedures and forklift usage guidelines, including wrapping pallets and the accurate scanning of products in and out of systems using electronic scanners.
- Managing the movement and storage of finished goods across designated warehouse zones in line with Beak & Johnston's value stream structure, ensuring accurate product placement to support timely order fulfilment across retail, foodservice and institutional channels.
- Supporting the internalisation of finished goods storage at the facility by operating load-handling equipment to receive, position and manage onsite stock across Beak & Johnston's brand portfolio, ensuring accuracy, traceability and readiness for outbound distribution across Australia.
- Monitoring forklift equipment through gauges, instruments and computerised systems, performing routine inspections and carrying out minor servicing and mechanical adjustments to maintain equipment availability and minimise operational downtime. I
- Ensure all products and stock are effectively managed to maintain stock rotation practices, with all stock accurately recorded and traceable at all times.
- Undertake daily and weekly safety and GMP audits in accordance with identified timeframes, and actively participate in all safety-based audits to ensure a safe working environment for peers, visitors and contractors.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with company policies, procedures and safe work practices, including effective communication with stakeholders regarding operational issues, quality concerns and shortages.
- Undertake all other duties as directed.
You will require the following requisite skills and experience:
- AQF Certificate II or III (ANZSCO Skill Level 4)
- At least 1 year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification listed above
