About us

Job description: Full Stack Developer

At Chemist2U Australia Pty Ltd, we're transforming how Australians access healthcare by bringing pharmacy services directly to their doorsteps. Our technology platform connects pharmacies, healthcare providers, and patients through seamless digital experiences — from prescription management and delivery logistics to payment processing and compliance.

We're building a comprehensive healthcare ecosystem powered by modern technology, handling everything from mobile apps and web platforms to complex integrations with delivery providers, payment systems, and healthcare standards.

The opportunity

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will be instrumental in architecting and delivering mission-critical features across our healthcare platform. You'll work within a modern monorepo, building scalable solutions that impact thousands of patients and healthcare providers daily.

This role offers the unique opportunity to work across the full stack — from Angular frontends and Ionic mobile apps to NodeJS and NestJS backends — while solving complex problems in healthcare delivery, logistics orchestration, and real-time systems.

What you'll do

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality full-stack features across our Angular web applications (prescription portal, e-commerce shop, admin dashboard) and Ionic/Capacitor mobile app

  • Develop and extend backend services using NodeJS and NestJS, including cloud functions, REST APIs, and microservices deployed on AWS ECS

  • Architect scalable solutions within an monorepo and shared libraries, ensuring code reusability and maintainability

  • Implement healthcare-specific features with careful attention to data security, compliance, and regulatory requirements

  • Work with product managers and stakeholders to gather requirements, develop user stories, and provide technical estimates

  • Lead technical initiatives, including system design, architecture decisions, and establishing best practices for the engineering team

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards and processes

  • Support deployment pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and production systems including monitoring, debugging, and incident response

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams using agile methodologies to deliver features from conception through deployment

    What you'll bring
    Required:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience building production applications

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern Angular (ideally Angular 15+)

  • Solid backend development experience with Node.js and frameworks like NestJS or Express

  • Experience with RESTful API design, development, and integration

  • Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows

  • Understanding of AWS services (S3, ECS, or similar cloud platforms)

  • Strong focus on code quality, testing, and security best practices

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex features

    Highly regarded:

  • Mobile development experience with Ionic/Capacitor or similar hybrid frameworks

  • Familiarity with BaaS platforms

  • Experience integrating third-party APIs at scale

  • Knowledge of healthcare standards (FHIR, HL7) or working in regulated industries

  • Experience with RxJS, state management patterns, and reactive programming

  • Background in e-commerce or logistics

  • Exposure to queue systems (BullMQ, Redis) and real-time applications

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Sentry and analytics platforms

    Up for the challenge?

If you're excited about building technology that improves healthcare access and want to work on a diverse tech stack solving real-world problems, we'd love to hear from you.
