The GMSV Marketing Intern will support the marketing team across three core areas: marketing finance, events and social media. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, proactive and eager to learn how a premium automotive brand operates day to day.
The role will give the successful candidate exposure to the commercial and operational side of marketing, including purchase orders, invoicing, accruals, forecasting, budget tracking, event coordination and social content support. It is ideal for someone who brings energy, curiosity and initiative, and who is confident engaging with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.
GM Specialty Vehicles is a premium automotive brand focused on bringing iconic, niche General Motors vehicles to Australia and New Zealand. The brand is built around exciting product, strong customer engagement and delivering a premium ownership experience. GMSV is a small team that enjoys what it does, has fun, and is seriously committed to bringing exciting products to our customers.
For this internship, it is important that candidates understand GMSV is hands-on, fast-paced and customer-facing, and your application submissions should reflect genuine enthusiasm for the brand, an interest in the product and a willingness to get involved across both the commercial and experiential side of marketing. Events Management
Support the planning and delivery of marketing events, activations & customer experiences
Coordinate event logistics including suppliers, venues, vehicle requirements, merchandise and materials
Assist on-site at events, representing the brand in a professional and enthusiastic way
Engage with customers and attendees to help deliver an exceptional brand experience
Support post-event reporting, invoice reconciliation and budget tracking
Social Media and Content Support
Assist with day-to-day social media coordination and content scheduling
Support the development of content ideas aligned to campaign and product priorities
Help monitor content performance and identify learnings or opportunities
Work with the Marketing Manager and creative agency to develop strategic GMSV content calendar, includes drafting social media content and publishing across active channels (leveraging GM approved Social Media tools [SMMS])
Attend agency meetings and speak to what’s working/what’s not e.g., owned content; weigh in on future content calendars; speak to earned conversational trends
Assist with community management where required
Support the marketing team with basic content capture and coordination at events or shoots
Stay current with the latest social measurement and industry trends
Marketing Finance
Raise and manage purchase orders in line with internal processes
Track supplier invoices and support timely processing
Assist with accruals and month-end budget reconciliation
Maintain budget trackers and support campaign and event budget management
Assist with forecasting and monitoring marketing spend across activities
Help ensure all finance administration is accurate, up to date and compliant
Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable with various social media platforms
Comfortable using Microsoft Suite and managing trackers, budgets or admin systems
Experience with design programs such as InDesign and Photoshop
