Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking 2 experienced Grader Operators based out of Townsville to support civil and roadworks projects across Townsville and surrounding regional areas.

These roles will involve operating new CAT graders, including CAT 160-14 & CAT 150-14, and require operators who are confident working with GPS and UTS machine control systems.

About the role
This is a hands-on role for an experienced operator who can work independently, follow project specifications, and contribute positively to site productivity and team culture.

The role will involve operating graders on a range of civil construction and roadworks projects, with work carried out across Townsville and the surrounding region. Travel may be required depending on project location.

Key responsibilities

• Operate grader equipment safely and efficiently across civil and road construction projects

• Carry out final trim, maintenance grading, drainage work, road formation and batters as required

• Operate with GPS and UTS machine control systems

• Work to levels, plans, site instructions and project specifications

• Conduct daily pre-starts and routine plant checks

• Identify and report mechanical issues, defects, hazards and safety concerns

• Work closely with supervisors, leading hands and other plant operators to achieve programme targets

• Maintain a high standard of care for plant and equipment

• Comply with Gulf Civil’s safety, environmental and site procedures at all times

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a Grader Operator in civil construction and/or roadworks

• Ability to carry out final trim and operate to required tolerances

• Current driver’s licence

• Construction White Card

• Relevant plant tickets, VOCs or evidence of competency

• Strong understanding of site safety requirements and operating procedures

• Ability to work in regional locations and travel where required

• Reliable, hardworking attitude and willingness to be part of a team

Desirable

• Experience working on regional or remote civil projects

• HR licence

• Experience operating CAT graders, including Cat 160-14 and Cat 150-14 or similar

• Experience operating other civil plant where required
