Harrup Park, Home of the Great Barrier Reef Arena, is looking for a Grounds Person to become a part of our crew and join our Grounds Team.

As Mackay’s largest Cricket and Premier Sports Club, ranked as a Tier One venue we have hosted many first-class matches including International ODI's & Test matches, Sheffield Shield, Marsh Cup, AFLW, WBBL, A - Series matches and U17/U19 Cricket Australia Test State & National Championships.

• Energetic and passionate about working on sportsgrounds.
• Operating and maintaining a wide range of commercial grade equipment
• Preparation of a range of surfaces, including turf wickets.
• Application of fertilisers and pesticides.
• Conducting renovations on both sports turf and passive turf.
• Irrigation of fields and gardens
• Assisting in maintaining fields, gardens, and the broader Harrup Park facility

• Completed Cert Ill Turf Management or equivalent or working towards.
• A keen interest in maintaining sporting and other outdoor facilities of the Club
• A strong work ethic and interest in working outdoors
• Sound written and oral communication skills
• Manual "C" class drivers’ licence or ability to obtain one
• A willingness to learn and apply new knowledge
• Flexibility with hours of work including some weekends
