THE OPPORTUNITY

Viva Leisure parent company to Club Pilates one of Australia’s leading fitness companies are looking for new Group Fitness Instructors to join our club on a casual basis in Hamilton North!

This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality group fitness classes that inspire and engage our members. At Viva Leisure, we pride ourselves on creating positive member experiences driven by passion, growth, and exceptional service. In addition to delivering dynamic and safe classes, instructors are expected to actively contribute to increasing class participation.

As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for leading scheduled classes at designated facilities. Reporting to the Club Leader, you will ensure each session is safe, energetic, and enjoyable, helping members achieve their fitness goals in a supportive environment.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with: 

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Certificate III in Fitness or Group Exercise Leader (GEL) Certification
• Relevant Certification for Group Fitness (Yoga, Pilates, Less Mils etc)
• Strong knowledge and passion for the fitness industry
• Understanding of fitness training methods, exercise principles, and relevant technologies
• Skilled in applying first aid procedure
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and promote safety procedures
• Experience in sales and customer service, ideally within the fitness or retail sectors
• Strong verbal communication and listening skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse members
• Compassionate, organised, and capable of guiding members in a safe and friendly environment
• Excellent multitasking abilities to manage member interactions and class delivery effectively
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-equipped facility

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Deliver high-quality group fitness classes with professionalism, including setup, pack down, and safe use of equipment
• Role model Viva Leisure values and uphold high standards of behaviour and conduct
• Motivate and support members, ensuring correct technique and fostering strong member relationships to encourage retention and growth
• Collaborate effectively with club staff and the broader Viva Leisure team
• Maintain compliance with Work Health & Safety policies, reporting hazards and incidents promptly
• Stay current with certifications and adhere to all relevant fitness industry standards and facility procedures
• Promote gym services and assist members with enquiries, escalating issues to the Club Leader when necessary
• Ensure class coverage by notifying the Club Leader in advance if unavailable to teach
