We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Head Barista / Front of House Supervisor to join the team at Convoy Commune in Merewether.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced café environment, loves specialty coffee, and enjoys leading a team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

About the Role

As our Head Barista / FOH Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations while maintaining the high coffee standards Convoy Commune is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead and support the front-of-house team during service

• Lead coffee service and maintain high standards of quality and consistency.

• Support, train and mentor baristas and floor staff

• Ensure smooth daily operations, manage an efficient workflow and maintain high service standards, especially during busy periods

• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient café environment

• Assist with stock control, ordering, and open/close procedures

• Deliver warm, genuine customer service, handle customer enquiries and build relationships with regulars

• Maintain a positive, respectful and fun team culture and professional work environment

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience as a senior barista, head barista, or café supervisor with strong coffee knowledge and skills

• Can confidently handle high-volume coffee service while maintaining quality

• Has strong leadership and communication skills

• Is confident leading a team in a fast-paced environment, leads by example and brings a positive attitude to every shift

• Is organised, reliable, proactive and solutions-focused

• Able to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively

• Has a genuine passion for hospitality, specialty coffee and the people we serve

• Holds full Australian working rights

• Available to work weekends and public holidays as required

• Salary package of $70,000 – $80,000 per year + super, based on experience
