Head Chef – Salt & Stone

Salary: $80,000 – $90,000
Location: Far Northern NSW / Southern Gold Coast Region

Salt & Stone is entering an exciting new chapter.

Recently acquired by JMY Group Pty Ltd, the venue is currently undergoing a major transformation and we're looking for a energetic and passionate Head Chef to help shape the future of our café, restaurant, functions and events offering.

We want more then just a chef for this role. We're seeking someone who is excited by the challenge of building something special from scratch and helping turn a once tired local venue into a must-visit coastal destination that does simple done well.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will take ownership of the kitchen operations and play a key role in developing the food direction of the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and maintaining seasonal breakfast, lunch and other menus

  • Leading the redevelopment of our evening dining offering for the upcoming summer season.

  • Managing kitchen operations, food preparation and service standards

  • Training and leading the kitchen team

  • Managing food costs, ordering and stock control

  • Maintaining high food safety and cleanliness standards

  • Working closely with ownership to drive growth, functions and event opportunities

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up

  • Is creative and passionate about modern café and coastal dining

  • Enjoys menu development and bringing fresh ideas to the table

  • Can lead and motivate a small team

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Is organised, hands-on and commercially minded

  • Wants to be part of a long-term project and make a genuine impact

  • Holds a Certificate III Commercial Cookery qualification or greater

  • Must be currently living in Australia and local

What We Offer

  • Salary package of $80,000 – $90,000

Weekend availability is essential as we operate seven days a week.
