HillSide Christian College is an evangelical Christian school located in Forrestfield, with an approximate enrolment of 460 students from 4-year-old Kindy to Year 12.
ABOUT THE ROLE
HillSide Christian College is seeking a full-time Head Gardener.
This person would need to demonstrate good skills in line with the JDF. They should be able to manage all the aspects of maintenance and development of quality grounds. The College has outstanding and aesthetically pleasing landscapes and the Head Gardener would be expected to manage all aspects involved in delivering quality grounds. The grounds are strongly connected with the Christian mission and vision of the College, so the successful candidate would need to meet all religious requirements stipulated in this advert.
This is initially a two-year Fixed Term Contract, with the possibility of conversion to ongoing following a successful probation period.
Salary is based on the College’s Administration Pay Scale between Level 3.1 - 4.1 , which is above the Award rate. Remuneration is based on experience and expertise.

Reports to: Business Manager
Job Purpose:
Develop, maintain and lead the overall presentation of the College’s grounds, gardens and building facilities. Provide a gardening and maintenance service that contributes to the College’s positive atmosphere, enhances the learning environment, and actively promotes an excellent impression to the community. The successful candidate will be an ambassador for Christ, sharing the gospel with the school community through practical service and positive interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
Award Level 3 - Control and responsibility for the maintenance of gardens, sports grounds and/or facilities which includes the use of accredited trade skills in areas such as horticulture, gardening or in the maintenance of sports grounds
Award Level 4 - Responsibility for planning, scheduling and supervising of all aspects of gardening maintenance
