Based in our Newcastle CBD office, we’re looking for an experienced Broker Assistant to join our dynamic and collaborative team. This role could suit someone ready to step into a Broker Assistant position now, with genuine pathways into broking responsibilities and career advancement for the right person.

You’ll work alongside a vibrant local team while also being connected to 13 other Ausure branches within our wider group, giving you access to strong internal networks, mentoring, shared expertise, and exposure to a diverse range of clients and insurance solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing day-to-day support and assistance to the Senior Broker / Director across a diverse portfolio of clients

• Assisting with policy processing, renewals, endorsements, quotations, and general administration tasks

• Preparing insurance documentation, correspondence, and client reports with a high level of accuracy

• Liaising with insurers and underwriters to obtain quotes, policy information, and documentation

• Supporting the Senior Broker with client service requirements and ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding matters

• Maintaining detailed client records and ensuring all compliance requirements are met

• Assisting with claims management and client enquiries where required

• Building strong relationships with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders

• Identifying opportunities to further support clients and contribute to business growth

• Providing exceptional customer service while helping ensure clients receive the right insurance solutions and ongoing support

• Opportunity for the right candidate to progressively manage their own client portfolio, including the full policy lifecycle from placement through to renewals and ongoing client servicing

What We’re Looking For

• Experience within insurance broking or a broker support role

• Tier 1 qualification preferred

• Strong knowledge of general insurance products and policy placement

• A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to take initiative and manage tasks independently

• Someone who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute positively to the team and business

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills

• Strong organisational and time management abilities with high attention to detail

• The ability to work effectively both autonomously and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment

• A professional, client-focused attitude and strong relationship-building skills

• A willingness to support the wider team and assist wherever needed in adynamic brokerage environment

• Someone looking to grow and develop within a progressive brokerage environment
