About this opportunity

Reporting to the Store Supervisor and Senior Chef, this role supports day-to-day kitchen operations in a fast-paced café environment. Availability is required throughout the week, including public holidays, for shifts between 7:00am and 3:30pm. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organised, and able to maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety while working efficiently under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist with preparation of main and side dishes including raw material processing (washing, cutting, portioning)

•Support basic stock handling and organisation

•Assist with opening and/or closing kitchen procedures

•Dishwashing and cleaning of kitchen floors, equipment, and work areas

•Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment

•Follow directions from the Store Supervisor and Senior Chef

Requirements

•Minimum 1 year experience as a kitchen hand in a high-volume café or restaurant

•Holds a valid Food Handling / Food Safety Certificate

•Strong personal hygiene standards and professional presentation

•Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment

•Well organised with basic problem-solving and communication skills

•Clear understanding of written and spoken English

•Stock handling experience and Asian-style café experience an advantage
