About the Role Contract Resources is entering another major year of growth and is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Lagger / Sheet Metal Worker to support a major shutdown in Lytton, QLD. 

Laggers play a critical role in supporting refinery shutdown activities through the installation, removal, and maintenance of insulation and cladding systems across piping, vessels, tanks, and process equipment.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking shutdown work without FIFO travel, allowing you to be home every night. Mobilisation for this project is scheduled to commence in July 2026 and will continue through to project completion. To be successful in progressing, you must meet the requirements outlined below.

Duties will include but not be limited to

  • Installation, removal, and maintenance of industrial insulation systems on Pipework, Vessels, Columns, Tanks and process equipment
  • Fabrication, fitting, and installation of sheet metal cladding and lagging materials
  • Removal and reinstatement of insulation during shutdown activities
  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting insulation and sheet metal to specification
  • Working at heights and within confined spaces as required 
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and job instructions
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with quality standards and site procedures
  • Strict adherence to Work Health & Safety requirements, including participation in JSAs, SWMS, Take 5s, and toolbox talks
  • Assisting other trades or core teams where required
Requirements & Experience Needed
  • 2+ years of experience working as a Lagger / Sheet Metal Worker on Oil & Gas or industrial shutdowns
  • Ability to work physically demanding roles in industrial environments
  • Ability to work day/night shifts and weekends
  • Strong commitment to Work Health & Safety
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
  • Willingness to assist across multiple work fronts as operational needs require
Tickets & Qualifications
  • Lagger / Sheet Metal Certification (essential)
  • Construction White Card (essential)
  • Working at Heights (obtained within the last 2 years – essential)
  • Confined Space Entry (obtained within the last 2 years – essential)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • Gas Test Atmospheres (desirable)
  • High Risk Work Licence (advantageous)
  • Full Australian work rights
