MacKillop Education is a Catholic Specialist P-12 School that comprises of four school campuses in VIC; Geelong, Maidstone, Clifton Hill and Caulfield. It caters for children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from mainstream education. The students referred to MacKilllop have a history and/or ongoing experience of trauma and their needs are complex and diverse; self-regulation is difficult for our students and this can result in challenging social and emotional behaviours.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Generalist Teacher will work collaboratively to develop and deliver highly effective and engaging learning programs that are suited to the diverse needs of our students and meet the requirements of the Victorian Curriculum, and senior pathways.
The Generalist Teacher will design and deliver learning programs that meet the needs of all students and is compliant with curriculum requirements. This includes classroom teaching and 1:1 intensive student support as required. Experience delivering the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and/or the VCE VM (Vocational Major) will be considered an advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Deliver trauma-informed, inclusive teaching aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and student needs
· Plan and implement tailored learning programs to meet diverse student needs
· Build strong relationships and collaborate with families and care teams to support student wellbeing and learning plans
· Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular feedback
· Contribute to a positive, supportive school environment through teamwork, supervision, and professional development while upholding MacKillop values and frameworks
· Collaborate with the wider team to enhance learning and wellbeing outcomes
· Supervise students and support excursions and transitions
