Immediate Start
This isn't a role for someone who waits for tickets to land. It's for someone who takes charge of client environments, lifts how things run, and brings people with them while they do it.
The opportunity We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing telco and managed services provider known for reliability, long-term client relationships, and high technical standards. They have strong foundations in place. What they need now is a natural leader to step in, own service delivery across their managed services client base, and set the standard for how it's done.
This is as much about people as it is about technology. You'll be the face of the technical function: the person clients trust, the person colleagues look to, and the person who decides how things should run. The technical depth is assumed. The leadership and the communication are what set you apart.
The role You'll take ownership of managed services delivery across a portfolio of business clients, acting as their primary point of contact and trusted IT advisor. You'll lead the technical function, set direction, and lift service standards across the board. This is a hands-on lead role, so you'll still be close to the work, from building and racking servers through to shaping how clients are managed long term. You lead from the front, not from a distance.
Key responsibilities - Leading managed services delivery across desktop, Microsoft 365, monitoring, patching, backups, and remote support
- Acting as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of business clients
- Setting the technical standard and bringing a quieter technical colleague along with you
- Building, configuring, and deploying server and network hardware for client environments
- Proactively reviewing client environments to improve performance, reduce risk, and expand service scope
- Managing ticket queues, SLAs, alerts, and escalations with a focus on continuous improvement
- Administering Microsoft 365 environments (users, mailboxes, security, restores)
- Onboarding and offboarding clients and users, refining the process as you go
- Managing monthly managed service packages and actively driving client satisfaction
- Coordinating vendors and specialist engineers across voice and infrastructure
About you - 4+ years in an MSP or managed services environment (essential, this is non-negotiable). Adjacent telco, ISP, or enterprise IT experience is a plus, but you must have genuine managed services delivery behind you
- A natural leader and a genuine people person, someone who builds trust quickly and is comfortable being the face of the technical function
- Hands-on hardware experience, including building, configuring, and deploying servers, switches, and network infrastructure
- A confident communicator who builds strong client relationships and isn't afraid to have direct conversations
- Proven ability to improve systems, tighten processes, and spot opportunities within existing accounts
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Experience leading or mentoring others, or clearly ready to step into a lead role
- Calm and accountable under pressure, with strong prioritisation skills
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Based in Melbourne
Why apply? - A genuine lead role with real ownership of client relationships and service outcomes
- A business that wants you to lead and shape how things are done, not just execute
- Stable, growing environment with room to make it your own
- Competitive salary with flexibility for the right person
- Immediate start available, we're ready to move quickly for the right person
If you're a managed services professional who's ready to step up, take ownership, and lead from the front, we'd like to hear from you.
