Task & responsibilities

• Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
• Performing pre-start checks and routine inspections of trucks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
• Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
• Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
• Adhere to state traffic rules, fatigue management, and chain of responsibility regulations
• Complete and maintain logbooks, load records, and safety checklists accurately
• Report defects, breakdowns, or incidents promptly to supervisors or maintenance team
• Undertake basic maintenance and cleaning of trucks to ensure operational reliability
• Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
• Ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
• Verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries

Qualification & experience

• Minimum one year experience required
• Formal qualification not essential
• Must hold a valid MC license
• Knowledge of load‑restraint and safety procedures
