As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients and referring practitioners, playing a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the practice.
You will provide exceptional customer service while coordinating appointments, managing patient records, supporting clinical staff and assisting with the day-to-day administration of the practice.
No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working as part of a close-knit team.
Key ResponsibilitiesWelcome patients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
Provide an exceptional first impression of Access Cardiology
Assist patients with forms, documentation and general enquiries
Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments across multiple locations
Manage specialist and testing appointment lists
Coordinate hospital admissions, scans and external appointments where required
Contact patients regarding recalls, reminders and follow-up appointments
Respond to telephone, email and in-person enquiries
Maintain accurate patient records and demographic information
Process payments and assist with billing administration
Audit patient accounts and ensure services are correctly recorded
Download, upload and manage clinical documentation and results
Obtain external reports and supporting documentation when required
Assist with quality improvement initiatives and administrative projects
Support doctors, sonographers and fellow team members as required
Contribute ideas to improve processes and patient experience
Assist in maintaining a safe, organised and professional workplace
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Previous experience in medical reception, specialist practice administration or healthcare customer service (desirable)
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
A caring, compassionate and professional approach to patient care
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
Confidence using computer systems and medical software
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
A commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and teamwork
Experience working within a specialist medical practice will be highly regarded but is not essential.
