An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Merchandise Analyst to join a fast-paced retail/FMCG business on a 3-month temporary assignment.

This role will support reporting and analysis across sales, inventory, and trading performance, helping key business functions make informed commercial decisions during a busy operational period.

About the role:
Working closely with Planning, Buying, Retail, and Supply Chain teams, you will provide hands-on analytical support while ensuring reporting remains accurate, timely, and actionable.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Preparing regular reporting across sales, stock, inventory, and trading performance
• Analysing data to identify key risks, trends, issues, and commercial opportunities
• Supporting business units with day-to-day trading and performance analysis
• Tracking performance against forecasts and highlighting gaps
• Assisting with reporting improvements and dashboard accuracy
• Working cross-functionally with Planning, Buying, Retail, and Supply Chain teams
• Maintaining consistent and reliable reporting throughout the temporary assignment
• Providing practical analytical support across operational priorities

What you'll bring to the role:

• 4–5 years’ experience within Merchandise Analysis, Planning, Reporting, or a similar analytical role
• Previous experience within Retail, FMCG, Merchandise, or Supply Chain environments
• Strong Excel and reporting skills
• Confidence analysing sales, stock, and trading performance data
• Ability to work within fast-paced commercial environments
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills
• Ability to quickly step into a temporary assignment and add value immediately

Experience using reporting systems, BI tools, or merchandise planning systems will be highly regarded.
