An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Merchandise Analyst to join a fast-paced retail/FMCG business on a 3-month temporary assignment.
This role will support reporting and analysis across sales, inventory, and trading performance, helping key business functions make informed commercial decisions during a busy operational period.
About the role:
Working closely with Planning, Buying, Retail, and Supply Chain teams, you will provide hands-on analytical support while ensuring reporting remains accurate, timely, and actionable.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing regular reporting across sales, stock, inventory, and trading performance
- Analysing data to identify key risks, trends, issues, and commercial opportunities
- Supporting business units with day-to-day trading and performance analysis
- Tracking performance against forecasts and highlighting gaps
- Assisting with reporting improvements and dashboard accuracy
- Working cross-functionally with Planning, Buying, Retail, and Supply Chain teams
- Maintaining consistent and reliable reporting throughout the temporary assignment
- Providing practical analytical support across operational priorities
What you'll bring to the role: - 4–5 years’ experience within Merchandise Analysis, Planning, Reporting, or a similar analytical role
- Previous experience within Retail, FMCG, Merchandise, or Supply Chain environments
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- Confidence analysing sales, stock, and trading performance data
- Ability to work within fast-paced commercial environments
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to quickly step into a temporary assignment and add value immediately
Experience using reporting systems, BI tools, or merchandise planning systems will be highly regarded.
