The Metal Casting Trades Worker will be responsible for supporting jewellery manufacturing operations through the preparation, casting, finishing and quality control of precious metal jewellery products. The role involves operating specialised casting and production machinery used in the manufacture of custom jewellery pieces and working closely with the production team to ensure high-quality workmanship and efficient manufacturing processes.

Task & responsibilities

• ·  Operating jewellery casting and metalworking equipment used in the production of custom jewellery pieces 
• ·  Preparing moulds and casting materials for precious metal production processes 
• ·  Melting, pouring and finishing precious metals in accordance with production specifications 
• ·  Assisting in the manufacture, assembly and finishing of jewellery products 
• ·  Monitoring casting quality and identifying defects or inconsistencies in metal products 
• ·  Using polishing, shaping and finishing tools to complete jewellery components 
• ·  Performing maintenance and cleaning of casting and production equipment 
• ·  Working closely with production staff to ensure quality standards and production timelines are met 
• ·  Assisting with the handling and preparation of gemstones and jewellery materials during manufacturing processes 
• ·  Maintaining safe workshop and production practices at all times

Qualification & experience

• ·  At least 2 years of relevant experience in jewellery manufacturing, metal casting or precious metal production 
• ·  Experience working with jewellery production machinery and casting equipment highly regarded 
• ·  Knowledge of precious metals, jewellery manufacturing techniques and finishing processes 
• ·  Strong attention to detail and quality control standards 
• ·  Ability to work in a production and workshop environment
