Position Summary

The Mobile Plant Operator supports day-to-day vineyard operations through the safe and efficient use of agricultural machinery and equipment across multiple vineyard sites within the Margaret River Region. The role contributes to vineyard productivity, seasonal operations and property maintenance activities to support consistent grape production outcomes and operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the Vineyard Manager.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and specialised vineyard machinery across multiple vineyard sites to support daily viticulture operations
• Undertake vineyard operational activities including mowing, spraying, slashing, cultivation and harvest support tasks
• Use agricultural equipment and attachments in accordance with operational requirements and seasonal work programs
• Support vineyard establishment activities, including irrigation works, trellis installation, replanting and property improvements
• Assist with seasonal vineyard activities such as pruning support, canopy management and harvest preparation
• Adjust machinery settings and equipment configurations to suit vineyard conditions and operational requirements
• Conduct routine machinery checks prior to operation and assist with general equipment servicing and upkeep
• Identify and report equipment faults, maintenance issues or operational concerns to management
• Complete operational documentation relating to spraying activities, machinery servicing and daily vineyard operations
• Assist with maintaining vineyard infrastructure, access tracks and surrounding property areas as required
• Handle and apply agricultural chemicals in accordance with workplace procedures, safety requirements and manufacturer directions
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, environmental standards and company operational policies at all times

Essential Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience operating agricultural, horticultural and vineyard machinery and equipment
• Ability to safely operate tractors, spray equipment and associated mobile plant machinery
• Experience undertaking vineyard, horticultural or agricultural operational tasks within an outdoor environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to undertake routine equipment maintenance and servicing
• Ability to work independently and across multiple operational sites
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and safe machinery operation
• Current Australian driver’s licence
• Ability to work full-time, year-round
• Experience working within viticulture or horticultural operations is highly regarded

Qualification & experience

Qualifications

• Hold at least a relevant AQF qualification Cert II or Cert III (or equivalent), or
• At least 1 year of relevant, full-time, experience may be substituted for the qualification listed above

Work Experience

• At least 2 years of full-time, relevant work-experience
