Zrass Pty Ltd T/as JAX Tyres & Auto North Lakes is seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our workshop team. The successful applicant will be responsible for performing light mechanical repairs, servicing, diagnostics, tyre fitting, balancing, and repairs, while delivering a high standard of customer service and maintaining strict safety practices.
Benefits
Salary: $77,000 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation (commensurate with experience)
Task & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Light Mechanical Duties:
- Complete vehicle inspection reports and clearly document findings and recommendations.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a range of light vehicle makes and models.
- Conduct servicing and preventative maintenance in accordance with industry standards.
- Source and acquire vehicle parts and accessories as required.
- Maintain workshop tools and equipment in safe working condition.
Tyre Fitting / Workshop Duties:
- Strip, fit and balance light vehicle tyres and rims.
- Repair tyres in accordance with manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Identify and log existing vehicle or rim damage.
- Manage stock movement including picking, unloading and storing inventory.
Safety & Compliance:
- Operate tools, hoists and diagnostic equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
- Maintain a safe and compliant workshop environment.
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions to management.
Customer Service:
- Provide accurate quotes and explain technical information in clear, simple terms.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional advice.
- Treat customer vehicles with care and professionalism.
Work involves standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, bending, kneeling and working both indoors and outdoors around moving vehicles and machinery. Exposure to workshop environments including exhaust fumes, fuel and cleaning chemicals is expected.
Qualification & experience
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent or higher).
- Current Tradesperson Licence (or state equivalent).
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant full-time work experience (post-qualification preferred).
