We have partnered with a premier, ASX-listed enterprise organisation currently undergoing a major multi-year network modernisation program. Operating a complex, high-scale national footprint, they are looking for a heavy-hitting Contract Network Architect to drive critical design streams across their next-generation infrastructure.

About the Role
This is a hands-on, high-impact contract role for an architect who loves getting stuck into the details. You won’t just be sitting in high-level strategy meetings; you will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into robust High-Level Designs (HLD) and driving them right down to production-ready Low-Level Designs (LLD).
You will be the design authority across a diverse multi-vendor estate, with a heavy focus on Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco Enterprise Wireless, and Juniper routing/switching environments.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Architecture: Own the creation of comprehensive HLDs and LLDs for complex enterprise network deployments, ensuring alignment with global security and performance standards.
• SD-WAN & Wireless Evolution: Lead the architectural design and rollout strategies for Cisco SD-WAN fabrics and high-density Cisco Wireless networks 
• Multi-Vendor Integration: Ensure seamless interoperability, routing optimisation, and secure policy enforcement between Cisco and Juniper infrastructure.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the technical subject matter expert (SME), collaborating with internal engineering squads, project managers, and third-party vendors to ensure flawless execution.
• Risk & Governance: Peer-review technical designs, validate deployment plans, and ensure all infrastructure changes mitigate operational risk.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven Enterprise Track Record: Solid experience working as a Network Architect within complex, large-scale Australian enterprise environments or managed service providers (MSPs).
• Design Mastery: Exceptional capability in writing clear, detailed, and flawless HLDs and LLDs that engineering teams can execute without ambiguity.
• Cisco Expertise: Deep production experience architectural design using Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela) and Cisco Wireless solutions.
• Juniper Capability: Strong technical understanding of Juniper technologies (JunOS, MX/EX series, routing protocols like BGP/OSPF) within an enterprise core.
• Professional Certifications: Ideally holds or has held expert-level certifications (e.g., CCDE, CCIE, JNCIE) or equivalent demonstrable industry experience.
• Communication: Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to non-technical business leaders.
