We are seeking a flexible and resilient individual to join our team as a Newsdesk Editor in Sydney, starting immediately or by agreement.

Qualification & experience

Your Main Responsibilities

• News Production: You will independently produce news across all categories (politics, business, culture, sports, science, general news, and people).
• Global Triage: You will screen and filter incoming reports from our international partner agencies (including DPA, AFP, APA, Belga, and Ansa).
• Morning Briefing & Planning: You create the initial news summaries and press reviews, ensuring a seamless and comprehensive handover to the morning shift in Switzerland.
• Crisis Management: In the event of major incidents, you immediately alert the editor-in-chief, regional offices, and photo and video teams.
• Night Shift Coverage for Switzerland: You will ensure multimedia reporting during the Swiss night hours (Sydney location).
