About the RoleWe are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Supervisor – Nightshift to join our Sydney Metro operations team.
Reporting directly to the Sydney Branch Manager, you will oversee and coordinate nightshift traffic management operations across the Sydney Metro area. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and profitable depot operations while leading and supporting Team Leaders and Traffic Controllers in the field.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong operational leader with experience in traffic management or a similar fast-paced operational environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate nightly operational activities for traffic management crews across Sydney Metro
Work closely with the Allocations Team to ensure client requirements are fulfilled accurately and on time
Supervise Team Leaders and Traffic Controllers to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance
Manage fleet, vehicles and traffic control equipment to support scheduled works
A full car licence is required to effectively manage fleet operations and vehicle coordination
Conduct site inspections, audits and assessments in line with WHS and Quality KPIs
Investigate and report incidents in accordance with company procedures
Mentor, support and develop field staff
Assist with booking works, including emergency callout jobs
Participate in the weekend on-call roster
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience within traffic management operations
A minimum of 1-2 years of traffic management operations experience is required
Experience in a supervisory or operations role within traffic control or a similar industry
A minimum of 6-12 months of supervisory experience is required
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
A positive, team-focused attitude
Competency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
