The location and Lifestyle:

Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75 kms from the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland where the Daintree Forest meets the Great Barrier Reef. The Mt Carbine Tungsten mine is 120km North of Cairns International Airport via sealed highway. Neighbouring the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway, The Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine is central to Mossman, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy.   For those with families, there is a choice of private and public schools, as well as universities and technical education facilities in the region.

About the Role:

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Operators - Multi-Skilled (Excavators and Dozers) and Dump Truck to join our Mt Carbine team, our fleet involves:

• Excavators: Cat 90 ton & Volvo 38 ton

• Dozer: Komatsu 375, Cat D8T & D6R

• Grader: 14M

• Articulated dump trucks: Volvo 60 ton & 45 ton, Bells 50ton & Cat 45 ton

The positions require certain physical demands and exposure to challenging environments that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, work at heights and other exertions associated with manual roles as well as a strong commitment to safety while working in an operational mine site environment.

• Perform pre-starts on every bit of equipment operated

• Operate machinery efficiently and safely

• High housekeeping standard

Key Selection Criteria:

• Experience operating machinery outlined above

• Safety focused with a high attention to detail

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the Company

• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability

• Highly organized with strong time management and communications skills to manage competing and/or changing priorities

• A can do attitude and team player

• Drivers License - C Class (Essential)

• Queensland Heavy Rigid (HR) (Desirable)
