We are seeking an experienced and reliable Painter to join our team. This position will play a vital role in maintaining vibrant, well-presented interior and exteriors for our portfolio of residential and commercial properties. The successful candidate will deliver excellent workmanship, maintain strong customer relationships, customise painting solutions tailored to each property. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• preparation of all surfaces by cleaning, scraping, sanding old paint, wallpaper, filling holes and cracks and smoothing and sealing surfaces. Tasks and duties include: Preparation of paint or varnish including selecting and preparing paints, colours, oils and tanning etc. Match and blend colours to match existing finish. 
• Application of paints, varnishes and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayer and other tools and equipment.
• Monitor and comply with dew point and moisture requirements prior and during coating application. 
• Identify, treat and remove corrosion affected material and apply corrosion protective coatings.
• Safe use of scaffolding and ladders as well other elevated work platform. 
• Use drop sheets and other protective covering to protect non-painted surfaces. 
• Clean, maintain, and store all equipment and tools following completion of each order; maintain a clean, organized and safe work area at all times. 
• Ensure a high level of workmanship and all work is completed to company standards and as per work order specifications; 
• Document jobs completed, material used and keep records for building coordinator. 
• Attend and participate in daily Pre-start and Toolbox meetings. 
• Ensure protective and safety devices are being utitlised at all times and ensure others do the same. 
• Comply with all applicable workplace health and safety legislation, codes of practice.
• Assist in the development of safe work method and standard operating procedures.  

Skills and Experience

• Relevant Certificate III or IV qualifications 
• Three year or more experience painting may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications;
• Proven skills in interior surface preparation (sanding, patching, filling, priming)
• Brush, roller, and spray-painting techniques
• Colour matching and finish application
• Knowledge of various paints, varnish, coatings 
• Excellent Attention to detail 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Driver’s licence
