The primary responsibility of a personal care assistant is to support clients in their day-to-day activities, mobility, and personal care while fostering their dignity, independence, and emotional well-being. As a member of a committed care team, the Personal Care Assistant contributes to the development of a secure, courteous, and encouraging atmosphere where each client feels heard, respected, and empowered to preserve their quality of life and take an active role in their community.
As a Personal Care Assistant at Felicity Group of Holistic Care Pty Ltd, you will be essential in helping people who need help with everyday tasks. Assisting clients with personal care, mobility, meal preparation, and other daily tasks while encouraging independence and honoring their dignity, preferences, and unique requirements will be part of your responsibilities. Our care staff collaborates closely with each client to develop individualized care plans that promote their social, emotional, and physical well-being. Compassion, tolerance, flexibility, and a solid grasp of safe care procedures are all necessary for this position. We are looking for people who are dedicated to providing excellent care and improving the lives of those we assist.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Helping elderly with personal hygiene tasks include eating, dressing, and taking a shower
• Engaging with individuals in therapy programs to facilitate their recovery and wellbeing.
• Helping patients with their communication and mobility requirements
• Support dental professionals in patient care, enhancing efficiency and comfort during dental procedures.
• Taking part in the planning of individual's care.
• Ensuring the well-being and developmental needs of children are met through attentive supervision and care.
• Addressing physical, emotional and social needs of individuals to foster overall wellbeing.
• Contributing positively to the community by providing essential support to vulnerable populations.
• Providing therapists immediate support and help.
• Employing a trained and dedicated team to ensure high-quality care and support across all service areas.
• Support for individuals in refugees helping them navigate challenging circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• AQF Certificate II or III, or at least one year of relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 4)
• 1 year of experience as a Personal Care Assistant.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Understanding of Aged Care, resident rights/responsibilities with ability to follow the care plan.
• An ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility.
• Capacity to work in various home environments and handle emergency situations.
WORKING HOURS
Full-time position, 38 hours per week.
