About the role
We are seeking multiple Part-Time and Casual Phlebotomists (Pathology Collectors) to join our dedicated team in Adelaide within our patient collection centres, domiciliary services & hospitals. As a Phlebotomist, you will be the warm, professional presence that leaves a lasting impression helping patients feel safe and supported. You will be collecting blood & specimen samples from patients with empathy and delivering excellent service.
We have various shift patterns available across multiple Adelaide locations for candidates who are passionate about contributing positively to the community through quality healthcare services.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention to detail
· Providing excellent patient service with empathy and compassion
· Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
· Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times
· Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
· Liaising with a range of different people including patients, clinic staff and couriers
To be successful you will have:
Essential
· A willingness to learn and follow strict policies and procedures.
· Exceptional patient service, professionalism and communication skills (both verbal and written).
· Exceptional time management skills and able to work autonomously and independently.
· Ability to communicate effectively with the collections team, doctors, patients and with a high level of empathy.
· The ability to be well organised, reliable, with strong attention to detail and demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.
· Be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and be confident in using computer programs.
· A current unencumbered Australian Driver's License & Legal right to work in Australia
· A valid Working with Children Check (for the purpose of employment)
· A valid National Police Certificate (for the purpose of employment)
Desirable (but not essential)
· A demonstrated experience and knowledge in phlebotomy
· Certificate III or IV in Pathology Collection
· Proven experience in collection of blood and other samples from patients
· Proven experience processing pathology specimens
