Prefabrication Engineer - Mechanical/Structural Steel Detailing

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Engineer to join a growing prefabrication and modular construction team delivering complex building services and infrastructure projects across NSW.

This role would suit someone from a Mechanical, Structural or Building Services background who is looking to develop their exposure across design coordination, prefabrication, structural steel, BIM and project delivery.

You will work closely with experienced design, workshop and project teams supporting the delivery of innovative prefabricated solutions from concept through to fabrication and installation.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting delivery of prefabrication and modular construction projects
• Assisting with concept development and technical coordination
• Coordinating structural steel detailing and shop drawings
• Working closely with BIM, drafting and fabrication teams
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and structural consultants
• Supporting tendering, estimating and procurement activities
• Assisting with fabrication, workshop and site coordination
• Monitoring quality, compliance and project documentation
• Providing technical support during construction and commissioning phases

About You

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Degree qualifications in Mechanical, Structural or related Engineering discipline
• 2–5 years’ experience within construction, building services, structural steel or prefabrication environments
• Exposure to structural steel detailing, fabrication or modular construction projects
• Experience working with BIM/detailing software such as Tekla, Inventor or similar
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Commercial awareness and willingness to develop estimating knowledge
• Ability to work across office, workshop and site environments
• Australian Driver’s Licence
