St Joseph's Primary School, Merewether is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Classroom Teacher (0.2FTE) to join the team for the remainder of the year.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join our school community in a temporary capacity. This position is offered as a job share, teaching Thursday each week.
Situated near the city and beaches of Newcastle, Saint Joseph's Merewether has a rich historical and social fabric. Located in an area known as The Junction, Saint Joseph's owes much of its ethos to the Sisters of Saint Joseph. In the spirit of Mary MacKillop and Tenison Woods the school, in co-operation with the Newcastle parish, reaches out to bring purpose and meaning to its community in the light of the Gospel Values.
Teachers in a Catholic school have a unique role to play and are assigned with the task of ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually and to live purposeful lives.
The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and will ensure the ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices that impact on student learning outcomes. The teacher will acknowledge and agree to the requirement to work within the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2025.
