We are currently looking for an immediate start a qualified Truck / Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position and a great opportunity to become part of a reputable, well-established family business.

Your duties will include:

Reliability is the cornerstone in transport, you will be an essential part ensuring our fleet is maintained to the highest level:

1.      Vehicle maintenance and repair - Servicing and diagnostic work of range of vehicles including service utes, light trucks, civil construction equipment, Highway Trucks and B Double Livestock trailers.

2.      Perform major repairs including midlife's and brake/bearing overhauls and servicing

3.      Accurately completing maintenance and repair documentation

4.      Diesel engine diagnostics & repair, major and minor rebuilds

5.      Checking vehicle lighting systems – auto electrical knowledge highly regarded

6.      Adhering to an inspection and manufacturers’ procedure checklist

7.      Experience in heavy civil construction equipment maintenance will be highly regarded

8.      HR or MC licence highly regarded

What You'll Bring:

• Mechanical Trade qualification - Trade Qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Fitter or Mobile Plant Technician

• Proven competence in repairs and overhauls

• Experience working on prime movers or heavy vehicle trailers

• Effective diagnostic skills including auto electrics on Kenworth and Mack trucks

• Clear and concise communication skills

• Motivated, reliable and a good work ethic

• Work autonomously and unsupervised

• Demonstrating safe work practices, leading by example and promoting a safe work culture

• Min. Two years’ experience post trade in the road transport repair industry

• Full set of comprehensive tools

• Outstanding time management skills required

• Great eye for detail, fault finding and diagnosis

• Tuesday to Saturday – (approx. 10hour days)
