About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Officer to join our Quality Team at Wetherill Park on a 12-month fixed term contract with the possibility of going permanent. In this technical, hands-on role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of food safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

You will be responsible for conducting product inspections, performing equipment swabs, calibrating laboratory instruments, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct product inspections and testing throughout the production process.

  • Perform equipment swab testing and analyse hygiene standards.

  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pH meters,).

  • Investigate non-conformances and support root cause analysis.

  • Assist in internal and external audits (e.g., BRC, YUM).

  • Maintain accurate documentation and quality records.

  • Support continuous improvement and provide training to production staff.

What You'll Bring

  • 2+ years’ experience in a quality role within food manufacturing, food testing.

  • Certificate or diploma in Food Science, food technology.

  • Experience with HACCP, GMP, or BRC/GFSI standards.

  • Hands-on knowledge of swab testing and lab equipment calibration.

  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive mindset.

  • Ability to collaborate across teams and influence quality outcomes.

  • Ability to participate in sensory evaluation and tasting and working with all product categories containing meat flavourings and allergens including egg and dairy.
