Casa Design Co is a boutique residential design studio with a reputation for delivering considered, high quality design outcomes for new homes, dual occupancies, renovations, and extensions across the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Port Stephens, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, and surrounding regions.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented and motivated designer to join our team and contribute to the next chapter of our business.

The Role

We’re looking for a passionate Residential Designer to join our team on a full time basis. This is a work from home role, but we require someone who is local to our service area as you’ll be attending site measures and client meetings across the Hunter, Newcastle, and Central Coast regions as projects require. You’ll be working closely with the team, contributing to a collaborative studio culture while also having the independence to manage your own projects.

The role consists of:

•       Preparing concept plans, design development drawings, and construction documentation for a wide variety of residential projects

•       Attending site measures and client meetings (in person and online)

•       Preparing and lodging Development Applications and Complying Development Certificates

•       Collaborating with the team to ensure project milestones and client expectations are met

•       Contributing ideas to improve studio systems, workflows, and processes, as a small growing business, your input matters

•       Maintaining clear and professional client communication throughout the design journey

  Ideally you’ll have:

•       Minimum 2–3 years of experience in residential building design, with a strong and varied portfolio

•       Proficiency in ArchiCAD (essential)

•       Solid understanding of NSW residential design approval pathways, including DAs and CDCs

•       Knowledge of the NCC, BCA, SEPP and relevant local planning controls e.g DCP, LEP etc.

•       Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships

•       Self motivated and organised, comfortable working independently from home

•       A genuine passion for residential design and the way people interact with their spaces

•       Experience with Twinmotion for 3D visualisation (ideal but not essential)

•       Existing knowledge of councils across the Hunter, Newcastle and Central Coast regions

•       Local to the Hunter, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens or Central Coast
