The Restaurant Manager will manage all aspects of restaurant at Silverwater Resort and oversee the operations of the restaurant, striving to deliver a service and standard that is equal or exceeds the expectations of conference and leisure guests.

Task & responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth functioning of everyday activities such as supervising service flow, monitoring cleanliness, coordinating between kitchen and service staff, and resolving any operational issues that arise during service.
  • Staffing—hiring, training, coaching, and assigning duties to employees and prepare shift schedules, ensure adequate manpower during peak hours, and motivate staff to maintain service standards.
  • Monitor the quality of customer service, ensure they are satisfied, address complaints, and take corrective action to maintain customer loyalty and positive reviews.
  • Track daily sales, manage cash registers, control expenses, reduce wastage, and work toward achieving revenue targets. May also prepare daily/weekly reports for owners or management.
  • Managing stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies is crucial. Oversee ordering, checks quality of received goods, ensures proper storage, and tracks inventory to avoid shortages or overstocking.
  • Ensure the restaurant meets all health and hygiene regulations which include monitoring kitchen cleanliness, enforcing food safety standards, and ensuring the team follows safety protocols.
  • Regularly check food presentation, portion sizes, taste consistency, and service speed. Ensures both kitchen and service teams maintain quality set by the restaurant.
  • Communicate with suppliers for timely delivery of ingredients and negotiate pricing or terms when necessary and ensure product quality and maintain professional relationships with vendors.
  • Help execute promotional activities, special events, and marketing campaigns. Support upselling strategies and maintain an attractive dining environment to increase customer engagement.

Qualification & experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • An Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Hospitality Management or similar
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar position, in hospitality management 
  • Proficiency in POS system and event management software
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and licensing requirements
  • Possess proven commercial and organisational skills
  • Have excellentcommunication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
