Task & responsibilities

Detailed Restaurant Manager Responsibilities

(including but not limited to)

  • Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations to optimise efficiency, productivity, and service quality
  • Develop and implement marketing initiatives to promote the business and increase sales
  • Professionally engage and communicate with customers across various platforms including Google Reviews and social media
  • Lead, motivate, and support the restaurant team to maintain a positive workplace culture
  • Manage recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of employees
  • Coordinate staff rosters and adjust shifts according to operational requirements
  • Serve as the lead customer service contact, handling guest enquiries, reservations, and customer relations
  • Act as the key liaison between management, staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders
  • Establish, monitor, and analyse budgets, labour costs, and operational performance
  • Develop and implement restaurant policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Manage supplier relationships, purchasing, stock control, and inventory systems
  • Ensure restaurant areas are maintained in a clean, organised, and compliant manner
  • Handle unresolved and escalated customer complaints professionally and efficiently
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance discussions
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, WHS, RSA, and company policies
  • Perform other duties as required to support business operations and growth
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required by hospitality operations


Qualification & experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Restaurant Manager role within a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Hotel Management qualification or Bachelor of Business (or equivalent) preferred
  • Current NSW RSA certification
  • Strong understanding of hospitality operations, customer service, and team leadership
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP standards
  • Proven ability to manage staff, rostering, and day-to-day venue operations
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to consistency and quality service
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume restaurant environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-focused culture
