Working directly alongside the Venue Manager, this is a hands-on role with genuine development and progression opportunities within Trader House. The venue operates across a public bar, bistro, and events offering, with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and team development.

Builders Arms Hotel is part of Trader House, led by Andrew McConnell and Jo McGann, one of Australia’s most respected hospitality groups.

Trader House is a collective of restaurants, bars, and specialty retail stores by Melbourne-based chef, cookbook author and columnist Andrew McConnell and photographer Jo McGann. Operating in Melbourne are Gimlet, Apollo Inn, Cutler, Supernormal, Cumulus Inc., Marion, Builders Arms Hotel, Meatsmith Heritage Butcher and Morning Market. In 2024, Trader House opened Supernormal and Bar Miette in Brisbane. A new restaurant, Côte Basque, will open in Melbourne in the winter of 2026.

We’re looking for a strong floor leader to oversee day-to-day restaurant operations and help drive standards, performance, and team culture across the venue.

Reporting directly to the Venue Manager, you will lead the FOH team while supporting all aspects of service, training, recruitment, and operational performance.

This role suits someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, leads from the front, and takes pride in developing teams and delivering consistent guest experiences.
