We're seeking for a passionate Retail Buyer to become a valued member of our Product Team! This full-time role is based in our store in Cardiff and is perfect for someone who enjoys taking on responsibilities and has a keen interest in growing their skills in Retail Procurement Management.

Task & responsibilities

• Manage the development of merchandise plans product strategies across the business
• Monitoring sales data and stock levels, and market information to keep informed of 
• changing market conditions
• Negotiating purchase, promotion and supply arrangements with suppliers 
• Designing and implementing pricing, marketing, promotional and display strategies 
• Liaising with management on long-term planning and sales promotions 
• Analysis of historical performance and post seasonal presentations 
• Establishing working plans according to seasonal and budgetary requirements 
• Inspecting, comparing, selecting and valuing goods and items for resale 
• Anticipating consumer trends and determining quantity, style and quality of goods to be purchased 
• Maintain buy plans and manage inventory in accordance with department budgets 
• Plan merchandise assortment and depth across each product category 
• Maintain an awareness of competitors product ranges 
• Spending time working in store to better understand customer needs 
• Identify opportunities for growth in sales and profit and Communicating product knowledge and technical features to all staff 
• Ensuring accurate quantification and allocation of stock in store

Qualification & experience

• Diploma in management 
• Previous experience as Retail Buyer for 1-2 years 
• Strong negotiation and communication skills 
• Knowledge of market trends and competitor analysis 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
• Relevant degree in Business or related field
