As a Retail Store Manager at Sportsco Epping, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the store, ensuring the right products are available, stock levels are maintained, and customers receive great service. You will help drive sales by setting pricing, supporting promotions, and assisting customers in choosing the right products for their needs. The role also involves keeping track of inventory and finances, supporting budgets, and leading the team through hiring, training, and rostering. You will ensure the store is well-presented, safe, and compliant with retail and safety standards, while being flexible to work weekends as part of a rotating roster.

Task & responsibilities

• Determine product mix, stock levels and service standards appropriate to the store’s sporting goods range.
• Formulate and implement purchasing and marketing policies, and set retail prices in line with brand and commercial objectives.
• Promote and advertise the store’s goods and services through in-store and digital channels.
• Sell goods and services to customers and advise them on product use, fit and suitability.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, inventory movements and financial transactions.
• Undertake budgeting of revenue and expenses, and monitor financial performance against targets.
• Manage recruitment, selection, rostering, training and supervision of store staff.
• Ensure compliance with relevant retail regulations, including occupational health and safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe retail environment at all times.

Qualification & experience

• A relevant degree or diploma in Business Management, Retail Management or a related field is preferable.
• At least 1 year of experience in retail management or a supervisory role within a retail environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Sound understanding of stock management, financial reporting and retail operations.
• Strong communication, customer service and people management skills.
• Availability to work a rotating roster including weekends.
