As a Retail Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation and performance of our retail petroleum outlet, including fuel sales, convenience store operations, and roadhouse services. The role insures efficient daily operations, profitability, compliance, staff management and high standards of customer service.

Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 per Annum + Superannuation.
Task & responsibilities
The scope of this role encompasses full responsibility for the operation of all retail activities through organising and controlling all aspects of the retail petroleum outlet. As such, the duties and responsibilities include but not limited to,
Staff Management and service standards
- Recruiting, training, supervising and appraising staff.
- Managing staff availability and rostering accordingly.
- Payroll management.
- Customer service and experience management.
Financial Management (including price setting) and Budgeting
- Create budgets and forecasts relating to retail store revenues making reasonable and educated assumptions.
- Develop and implement appropriate retail pricing policies and strategies aligned with the budgeted forecasts and necessary operating requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels and sales as well as keep statistical records of the same for use in budgeting for future periods.
Store Promotion and Marketing
- Be responsible for developing, devising and implementing promotional and marketing activities in the business both online and on site.
- Ensuring instore promotion setups are carried effectively.
- Resolve customer complaints and maintain customer satisfaction.
Product Mix Management / stock control and sourcing strategies including purchasing
- Managing product mix and stock levels, varying the product mix in line with sales information to maximise stock turnover.
- Developing purchasing policies and implementing the same.
- Seeking out new products and suppliers on a regular basis.
- Monitor online reviews and post responses accordingly.
- As required, assist customers to select and pay for retail items.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Maintain records of sales, staff, and compliance activities.
- Maintain various compliance requirements of the business and the industry OH&S.
- Report performance metrics to senior management and/or business owners.

Qualification & experience
- Diploma or higher qualification in Retail Management and or Business (Preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience (or 3 years without formal qualification).
- Experience in petroleum, convenience retail or hospitality is highly desirable.
