The Retail Manager at METRO SEAFORD VIC PTY LTD T/A Metro Petroleum Seaford is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fuel station and convenience store, ensuring efficient business performance and exceptional customer service. The role involves managing inventory and stock control, coordinating supplier relationships, implementing sales and promotional strategies, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements. Through effective operational management and leadership, the Retail Manager contributes to the profitability, growth, and ongoing success of the business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies, marketing initiatives, and pricing policies to maximise sales and profitability.
• Plan and manage the product range, maintain appropriate stock levels, and ensure high standards of product presentation and service quality.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors to coordinate the timely procurement and delivery of fuel, convenience products, and store merchandise.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stocktakes, investigate stock discrepancies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Maintain financial records, prepare operational budgets, monitor expenditure, and support cost-effective business operations.
• Coordinate and implement promotional activities, advertising campaigns, and in-store merchandising strategies to attract customers and increase revenue.
• Provide high-quality customer service, assist customers with product enquiries, and ensure customer needs are met effectively.
• Address customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and support staff, including allocating duties and monitoring performance to ensure operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, company policies, fuel retailing standards, and all relevant legislative requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) in Business, Retail Management, Management, or a related discipline.
• At least one to two years of relevant experience in retail management, service station operations, convenience retailing, or a similar customer-focused environment.
• Strong leadership, staff supervision, and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
• Sound knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, sales processes, and basic financial administration.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining operational efficiency and compliance standards.
