InHome Care SA (IHCSA), a leading provider of high‑quality in‑home care services, is seeking a proactive and detail‑driven Rostering Officer to join our dynamic team in Mile End. This pivotal role ensures our clients receive seamless, person‑centred support by optimising workforce scheduling and enhancing engagement for our dedicated Home Support Workers.
As a Rostering Officer, you will coordinate, monitor, and continuously improve rostering processes to support efficient service delivery for older Australians. You’ll work closely with staff, clients, and families to balance operational needs with staff wellbeing and client satisfaction.
What You’ll Be DoingDevelop and maintain effective rosters that align Home Support Workers with client needs.
Ensure a minimum two‑hour engagement per shift wherever possible improving support worker efficiency and job satisfaction.
Proactively identify and reduce scheduling gaps to maintain smooth service delivery and a high standard of care.
Monitor real‑time roster changes, quickly resolving conflicts, last minute cancellations, and staff absences promptly.
Ensure a balanced workload for support workers while maintaining optimal coverage for clients.
Liaise with staff, clients, and families to understand availability, preferences, and care requirements.
Maintain clear, timely communication regarding roster updates or adjustments.
Address roster‑related concerns proactively, demonstrating a problem-solving mindset and planning ahead to avoid disruptions.
Ensure rosters comply with the SCHADS Award (Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services) Award, including break entitlements, overtime, and shift rules.
Utilise and adapt to rostering software maintaining accurate records for compliance, reporting, and payroll processing.
Plan ahead to forecast rostering needs, anticipating peak demand periods and ensuring adequate staffing.
Collaborate with HR and recruitment teams to address workforce shortages and support organisational growth.
Support management in developing strategies that enhance service efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Proven experience in rostering or scheduling, ideally within aged care or disability services.
Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to plan ahead and resolve conflicts efficiently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
Proficiency with rostering systems and the ability to learn new software quickly.
Understanding of the SCHADS Award and its impact on scheduling and payroll.
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work to KPIs in a fast‑paced environment.
A genuine passion for supporting older Australians.
Willingness to participate in a rotating on‑call roster.
Ability to speak fluent Greek (Advantageous)
