We are seeking a Sales Assistant and Warehouse Assistant to join the team in Townsville.
Ideally, the successful applicant will already have experience working in a sales environment and undertaking warehouse duties, with a reasonable knowledge of retail and wholesale paint products. However, all candidates with transferable experience will be considered.
This is a full-time position.
As a Sales Assistant and Warehouse Assistant, you will report to the Store Manager and be responsible for supporting the following:
Providing excellent internal support and service to customers.
Assisting in administrative and point-of-sale duties, including customer invoicing, goods receipting and the processing of sales.
Building positive working relationships with trading partners to support the ongoing development of the brand and Group reputation.
Supporting the store through warehousing duties and order fulfilment for customers and trade clients.
You will work closely with the Store Manager in the delivery of the following key tasks:
Ensuring a commitment to providing a professional customer experience.
Answering and processing customer orders face-to-face, via telephone or email.
Using point-of-sale systems and computers for processing and invoicing customer orders and sales.
Receipting incoming stock against purchase orders.
Maintaining inventory records and monitoring emails.
Picking and packing orders and organising dispatch through freight providers where required.
Maintaining presentation and housekeeping of the store, including cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and general upkeep.
Following up with suppliers on outstanding purchase orders and deliveries.
Adhering to Workplace Health and Safety requirements and procedures.
Resolving supplier enquiries, complaints and concerns where they arise.
Assisting in general labour and warehouse duties as required.
Carrying out any other reasonable duties as directed.
Tinting and mixing paint.
The successful applicant will have the following mix of technical and personal skills:
Good verbal and phone communication skills.
A positive attitude towards working in a busy and varied role.
Pride in building long-term customer relationships.
Strong organisation and time management skills.
A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
Physical capability to safely handle weights up to 20kg.
Experience in similar industries (preferred).
A forklift licence (preferred but not necessary).
