About the Role.

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Functional Consultant to take full ownership of our Salesforce ecosystem. This is a foundational hire responsible for driving the company’s digital transformation by migrating legacy systems into Salesforce, automating core finance and sales workflows, and optimising the Marketing Cloud environment.

This is a hands-on role with significant influence on how the business operates, scales, and delivers efficient processes across retail operations. While the initial focus will be on the migration and implementation, the role will evolve into ongoing management, optimisation, and user support of the Salesforce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

System Migration & POS Implementation

  • Lead the migration from Retail Express to a Salesforce-native Point of Sale (POS) solution.

  • Ensure the POS system is intuitive and easy to use for 200+ retail staff to drive adoption.

  • Map existing workflows and implement Salesforce solutions that reflect business processes while introducing efficiency improvements.

  • Conduct testing, validation, and documentation to ensure a smooth transition.

End-to-End Automation

  • Design and maintain complex business logic to reduce manual data entry for finance, sales, and operations teams.

  • Identify repetitive processes and implement automation for accuracy and efficiency.

  • Continuously evaluate workflows and implement improvements as the business scales.

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Management

  • Own the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) environment.

  • Build and optimise customer journeys, lead generation triggers, and automated

EDM campaigns integrated with core CRM data.

  • Maintain data quality and segmentation to support highly targeted marketing initiatives.

Hardware & Integration Management

  • Oversee integration of retail hardware (Zebra printers, barcode scanners) with Salesforce.

  • Configure solutions (Browser Print utilities, AppExchange bridges, etc.) for seamless label printing and scanning in Salesforce.

  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams to ensure hardware and software reliability.

Telephony & CTI Integration

  • Research, recommend, and implement a stable CTI solution linking telephony systems with Salesforce Lead and Account records.

  • Resolve existing friction points to improve efficiency and data capture.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Design and implement real-time dashboards and reports for sales performance, margin tracking, and other business metrics.

  • Partner with the National Sales Manager and CEO to define reporting requirements.

  • Continuously optimise reporting structures for clarity and usability.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Change Management

  • Work closely with leadership, operations, finance, and sales teams to gather requirements and ensure Salesforce solutions meet business needs.

  • Translate technical concepts into plain English for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Drive adoption and provide guidance, documentation, and support to internal teams.

Ongoing / BAU Responsibilities

System Maintenance & Optimization

  • Monitor and maintain Salesforce and connected systems to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.

  • Review system configurations, workflows, and automations regularly and implement improvements.

  • Apply Salesforce updates, patches, and enhancements as needed.

User Support & Training

  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for end-users across retail, finance, sales, and marketing.

  • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to support user adoption.

  • Respond to change requests and minor enhancements as business needs evolve.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Continuously identify process inefficiencies and implement Salesforce solutions or automation to address them.

  • Enhance reporting, dashboards, and analytics to support business decision- making.

Project & Release Participation

  • Support smaller Salesforce enhancements, integrations, or expansions.

  • Participate in testing, user acceptance, and deployment of system changes.

  • Collaborate with external consultants or vendors for ongoing projects.

Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain system documentation, data integrity, and compliance with internal and external standards.

  • Ensure workflows, data models, and integrations meet governance, security, and audit requirements.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary internal point of contact for Salesforce across business units.

  • Work with Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to align Salesforce capabilities with evolving business needs.

Technical Requirements

  • Salesforce Functional Expertise: 5+ years of experience configuring Salesforce in a high-volume retail or commercial environment.

  • Flow Builder: Advanced experience designing low-code automation to replace manual workflows.

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC): Practical experience with Journey Builder, Data Extensions, and campaign automation.

  • System Integration: Experience managing API connections between Salesforce and third-party tools (Finance, Telephony, POS).

  • UX & Adoption Focus: Proven ability to simplify Salesforce interfaces and processes for non-technical users.

  • Reporting & Analytics: Ability to create dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for leadership.

Soft Skills & Cultural Fit

  • Problem Solver: Identifies issues and implements effective solutions.

  • Direct Communicator: Explains technical challenges and risks in plain language

    to executives and end-users.

  • Team Player: Collaborates across departments while taking ownership of key

    initiatives.

  • Adaptable & Hands-On: Thrives in a fast-paced, growing business environment

with direct access to senior leadership.
