Senior Hydrogeologist We’re looking for a
Senior Hydrogeologist to join our growing team and play a key role in delivering high-quality groundwater investigations and advisory services across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is an opportunity to step into a
hands-on technical and project delivery role, working across mining, infrastructure, and water resource projects while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
About the Role As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will:
- Lead and deliver hydrogeological investigations and assessments
- Interpret groundwater data and develop conceptual hydrogeological models (CHMs)
- Undertake groundwater impact assessments for mining, infrastructure, and water-related projects
- Plan and manage field programs including drilling, testing, monitoring, and sampling
- Contribute to and review technical reports, models, and datasets (QA/QC)
- Support project delivery, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and resourcing
- Engage with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to communicate outcomes clearly
What You’ll Bring Qualifications & Experience - Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Engineering, or related discipline

5+ years’ professional experience in hydrogeology
- Proven experience delivering hydrogeological investigations and impact assessments
Technical Capability - Strong skills in groundwater data interpretation, aquifer behaviour, and CHMs
- Experience with groundwater modelling (conceptual and/or numerical desirable)
- Understanding of groundwater–surface water interactions and climate influences
- Experience in hydrochemistry and field data analysis
- Proficiency in GIS and data analysis tools
Field & Project Delivery - Demonstrated experience managing drilling, pumping tests, and monitoring programs
- Ability to scope, plan, and deliver projects, managing time, cost, and risk
- Experience contributing to proposals, tenders, and technical documentation
Communication & Leadership - Strong technical report writing and presentation skills
- Ability to translate complex technical information for diverse audiences
- Proven ability to build trusted client relationships
- Capability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
Desirable - Experience with groundwater licensing, approvals, and compliance frameworks
- Exposure to water balance modelling and environmental management plans
- Experience contributing to technical leadership or mentoring
