Senior Java/Kotlin Engineer – 6 Month Rolling Contract – Sydney

Daily rate: $900–$1000 p/d

Join a leading Australian bank working on large-scale digital platforms that support millions of customer transactions daily. This is a hybrid role within a high performing engineering team building secure, scalable backend systems across cloud-native environments.
What you’ll be working on:

• Building scalable backend services using Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot
• Developing event-driven microservices and APIs in AWS
• Working across Kafka, containerisation, CI/CD, and cloud-native platforms
• Collaborating with engineers, product teams, and architects on enterprise systems
• Contributing to engineering standards, scalability, and platform reliability

What you’ll bring:

• Strong commercial backend engineering experience with Java and Kotlin
• Experience building microservices and distributed systems
• Strong AWS cloud exposure within enterprise environments
• Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in agile delivery teams
