Full-time Mechanical Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager required to deliver sustaining capital projects portfolio for a world-class operator at a Kwinana Refinery. This role is based in Kwinana and will focus on the management and execution of brownfield projects within an operational processing facility.

This position presents an exciting opportunity to work closely with our client’s operational and project teams in delivering sustaining capital improvements across a major refinery operation.

This is a full-time Monday to Friday position based in Kwinana, involving site-based project delivery within a live operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to define and develop front-end project phases for capital improvement initiatives.

• Ensure projects are aligned with operational objectives, economic drivers, and gated project delivery requirements.

• Manage and oversee contractor activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.

• Prepare and present scopes, studies, and project outcomes as part of the approval and governance process.

• Participate in site investigations and support the development of corrective strategies and improvement initiatives.

• Coordinate internal and external resources to maximise efficiency and project outcomes.

• Identify, assess, mitigate, and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.

• Provide weekly project reporting, cost tracking, scheduling updates, and stakeholder communications.

• Participate in detailed design reviews, constructability assessments, and value improvement workshops.

• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with safety, quality, schedule, and budget expectations.

• All approved travel expenses will be fully reimbursed.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

• 10+ years’ experience in project delivery within heavy industrial, processing, refining, mining, or similar environments.

• Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering brownfield capital projects in a Senior Project Engineer or Project Manager capacity.

• Experience working within processing plants, refinery operations, mineral processing, HMS, separation plants, or similar industrial facilities.

• Strong understanding of project delivery across all project phases, from concept through to execution and commissioning.

• Proven ability to manage stakeholders in a professional, collaborative, and adaptive manner.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• High attention to safety, operational performance, and continuous improvement.

• Proactive, solutions-focused, and driven attitude with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced operational environments.
