The Senior Silicone Prosthetic Technician is an advanced technical manufacturing role within our specialist silicone prosthetic central fabrication facility. The position plays a key role in the manufacture, quality, and workflow of custom silicone prostheses for the body, including complex cosmetic limb prosthetic restorations.
This position is suited to an experienced and highly skilled artistic silicone technician who can work independently across complex prosthetic manufacturing cases while also contributing to workflow optimisation, mentoring, and technical development within the workshop.
You will be involved in the end-to-end fabrication of custom hyper-realistic upper and lower limb prosthetics, with increasing responsibility for mentoring junior staff, refining production processes, and supporting innovation in materials and workflows.
The Senior Silicone Prosthetic Technician provides high level technical expertise within the workshop and works under the clinical direction of qualified Anaplastologists and/or prescribing Prosthetists. The role is non-clinical and does not involve patient assessment or prescription.

Remuneration: Annual salary range on offer: $75,000 to $81,000 plus super
Task & responsibilities
- Independently fabricate custom silicone cosmetic prostheses and associated products, including fingers, toes, partial hands/feet, limb covers, and advanced cosmetic restorations, in accordance with prescribed specifications.
- Apply advanced techniques in mould making, casting, intrinsic and extrinsic pigmentation, sculpting, texture replication, hair work, nail manufacture, tinting, and final finishing.
- Interpret clinical prescriptions, casts, and digital inputs.
- Quality control and refinement of prosthetic outcomes.
- Maintenance of detailed technical documentation and case records.
- Contribution to workflow improvements and process standardisation.
- Mentoring and guidance of junior technicians.
- Assist in maintaining safe work practices, materials management, and workshop organisation.
Qualification & experience
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in prosthetic manufacturing or related fields including at least 1.5 years’ hands-on experience in silicone prosthetic fabrication for healthcare.
- Demonstrated experience producing complex silicone prostheses to a high standard within a professional or commercial environment.
- Formal qualifications in prosthetics, orthotics, biomedical fabrication, special effects fabrication, dental technology, or related technical fields.
- Portfolio demonstrating advanced silicone prosthetic work is required.
