The Role
Reporting to the Spatial Operations Manager you will manage and perform spatial surveying tasks, including:

  • Terrestrial Laser Scanning projects.

  • UAV and Aerial Survey support.

  • Large scale control and monitoring surveys.

  • Large scale topographic and subterranean utilities survey and data management.

  • Preventative maintenance and monitoring surveys.

  • Opportunities to support high-precision surveying, including machine alignment, machining QA, and installation & commissioning support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake and deliver spatial surveying projects, including laser scanning and LiDAR projects.

  • Undertake topographic, engineering, facilities and subterranean utilities surveys.

  • Manage field data collection using Total Stations, GPS, Laser Scanners, UAV’s and more. 

  • Manage office data reductions and processing using survey, spatial & 3D modelling software.

  • Collaborate with the GIS & Digital teams to deliver advanced spatial solutions.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with clients, engineers, fabricators, and maintenance teams.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards and safety protocols

About You

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a surveyor, preferably with strong experience in terrestrial laser scanning, remote sensing or data management.

  • Proficiency with Total Stations, Laser Scanners & remote sensing equipment.

  • Demonstrated experience in liaison and delivery within multidisciplinary projects (engineers, project managers, contractors, etc).

  • Strong data processing and documentation skills within the AutoDesk, Leica Cyclone and 12d environments.

  • Degree or diploma in Surveying, Spatial Science or similar. 

  • Based in Newcastle region (local candidates only).

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Australian driver’s licence and construction white card.
