Speech Pathologist | Allied Health

ASR Recruitment has partnered with a leading and trusted allied health provider delivering person-centred services across the Central Coast and the Hunter. They are now looking to welcome an experienced Speech Pathologist into their multidisciplinary team, recent graduates welcome. 

This is a genuinely varied caseload spanning aged care, disability, mental health and neurological rehabilitation, supporting clients to overcome communication and swallowing difficulties and supporting with day-to-day routine. As part of a collaborative allied health team, you'll work alongside OTs, Physios, Psychologists, Dietitians, Exercise Physiologists and Behaviour Support Practitioners to deliver coordinated, goal-focused care.

About the role:
  • Assess and treat clients across the full scope of practice, expressive language, understanding, speech, articulation, fluency, voice and dysphagia
  • Work with a diverse caseload including developmental delays, autism, stroke, ABI, learning and intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, dementia, hearing loss and degenerative neurological conditions (Parkinson's, MS, MND)
  • Conduct language, speech and swallowing assessments and develop individualised therapy plans
  • Develop and implement Mealtime Management Plans to support safe swallowing, eating and drinking
  • Prescribe and train clients in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, including books, charts, iPads, apps and speech output devices
  • Deliver communication, social skills and voice work tailored to each client's goals
  • Provide education and coaching to families, carers and support workers
  • Produce comprehensive reporting across NDIS, aged care and other funding streams
Who we're looking for:
  • Bachelor or Master of Speech Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status with Speech Pathology Australia
  • Experience (or strong interest) across speech pathology, paediatrics, adults, aged care, neuro rehab or disability
  • Confident across both communication and dysphagia caseloads
  • Strong report writer across NDIS, aged care and clinical contexts
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Collaborative team player who values multidisciplinary practice
  • Current driver's licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check and National Police Check
